Siberian Siren: The 2017 Platinum Vinyl Awards 1st Qtr - Pop

We begin our single post genres with a tie, and the first up with 6 entries into the pool, is Pop Music. You wouldn't believe who they are tied with. They don't usually scrape the bottom of the barrel. They usually win the quarter hands down. Let's get to it.

Pop Music

• Dez Childs - Work of Art
• Consumed by Fire - Giving Over
• Meleana - White Walls
• Britt Nicole - Britt Nicole
• Ginny Owens - Love Be The Loudest
• B. Reith - Heart on my Sleeve

A nice mix of new and old. B. Reith went pop after a long residence at Rap. I think it was an inspired choice. Modern Worship is next. (I told you that you wouldn't believe). Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Music Video Monday: Live Alive

Welcome back to Music Video Monday, where we share the latest (hopefully) and the greatest (according to US) Music Videos in CCM and those that are in the Fringe or otherwise regarded as GRAC (which stands for Generally Regarded As Christian). For the past two weeks we have had a MVM which has consisted entirely of Videos from a single genre. That changes this week as each video comes from a different genre.

We begin with Britt Nicole. She has released a self-titled album this month. This is a Lyric (actually a Hybrid) Video for Through Your Eyes.

From Pop to Metal. Greetings Comrades. This interesting named band, which to my knowledge has no Russian connections, released an album on the 7th entitled Love/Grey. One thing I like is that the clean vocalist is a girl. A guy does the growls. This is Dark Tongues, Part II.

And finally, from Pop to Metal to Modern Worship. We finish with Rend Collective, which released a sequel to its Campfire Album. Interestingly, while all the videos came from different genres, they all released on the 7th. Though I picked them myself, I failed to notice that. Anyway, from Campfire II: Simplicity, this is Live Alive. Rend is back.

Well that does it for this edition of Music Video Monday. We shall try to keep the mix going next week. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

MVM Special Edition: #PlatVnyl4 - Dance/Synthpop Video of The Year

We have reached the fourth of eight Genre based Video Awards. Once we have awarded the Dance/Synthpop Video of The Year, this portion of #Platvnyl4 will be half over. For those who haven't been keeping pace with the awards so far, click on the highlighted genres to see the results for Adult Contemporary, Alternative, and Pop.

The five nominated videos came from all over the dance world, though one might have slipped in from hip hop. You just never know. Anyway, the five nominees are: Battery by +V ROSE ; Gold by +Britt NicoleGOLD ; I Don't Deserve You by +Paul van Dyk feat Plumb ; Solar System Remix by +Har Megiddo feat +Michael Ketterer ; and WHTVR by +Allistair Music .  You can check out the nominated videos and artists at the nomination page for the category.

Har Megiddo was really good, but the video was fairly old. While I really was rooting for Plumb, in the end the Hip Hop crossover won. The #PlatVnyl4 winner for Dance/Synthpop Video of The Year is Battery by V.Rose

Like I said, we have reached the halfway mark of the #PlatVnyl4 Video Awards. Next up is the electronic sibling of Synthpop, Electronic/Industrial Album of The Year. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

MVM Special Edition: Video By A Female Artist

Next up is Video by A Female Artist. Once again we have five nominated videos, which distinguishes this category from the album and song awards, where we try to have seven nominees per category. The reason for this is the blog. Seven videos is a long scrolling experience. Five is pushing it, but under that seems like a waste. The nominees are:

Battery, V.Rose

Gold, +Britt NicoleGOLD

I Don't Deserve You, Paul Van Dyk feat Plumb

Loved, +JJHellermusic

Wanted, +daramaclean

Those are the nominees. Watch, enjoy, and vote in the comments. I encourage your votes to help me pick the winners.  Next up is Video by A New Artist. The young Turks get to shine. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

MVM Special Edition: Dance-Synthpop Video Nominees

We are approaching the half way point in our announcement of the nominees for the Video Portion of this years Platinum Vinyl Awards. This is the only section I will do in full on the blog. For song, album and the general field I will only hit the high points in blog posts and will refer you all to the announcement page when it is up.

And the nominees for the 4th Platinum Vinyl Awards in the Category Dance-Synthpop Video of The Year are:

Battery, +V ROSE

Gold, +Britt NicoleGOLD
I Don't Deserve You, +Paul van Dyk feat Plumb
Solar System Remix, +Har Megiddo feat Michael Ketterer
WHTVR, Allistair
Next up is the other half of the synthetic contingent. Electronic-Industrial. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Comments.

MVM Weekend Edition: Guns for Hands

Welcome Back to the new Weekend Edition of Music Video Monday. This weekend we move into the Electronic Arena. Personally, it is one of my very favorites. It was one of God's greatest blessings to man when Mr. Robert Moog created the synthesizer.

We Begin with Pas Neos, and The Joy Set Before Me from their recent album Who Do You Say that I am. This is a live performance at One Thing2012

The Capital Kings are next, with You'll Never Be Alone.

Britt Nicole is pretty good as pop artists go, but on the dance floor, this girl is Gold.

And we wrap things up with Twenty-One Pilots, which makes it pretty difficult to fly a plane, but it is even more difficult when you have Guns For Hands.

That's it for the weekend edition. We continue in the Electronic Arena on Monday, when we shall have Videos from V.Rose and Har Megiddo among others. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.
