Shemita Songs: The 2015 Platinum Vinyl Awards 4th Qtr - Adult Contemporary

I usually make fun of Adult Contemporary. I like to call it Air Conditioning Music. You know, it keeps you comfortable. Well the air conditioner is blowing pretty well, despite it now being November. Just Joking. These were the releases for the Summer Months, so AC is just fine then.

Adult Contemporary/Inspirational

• The City Harmonic - We Are
• Noah Cleveland - Church With No Walls
• Colton Dixon - Calm EP
• Julie Elias - Unbroken
• Laura Kaczor - Restore Me
• Cheri Keaggy - No Longer My Own
• The Neverclaim - The Joy
• Natasha Owens - No One But You
• For A Season - I Will Wait
• Amber Nelon Thompson - Just Sing
• Big Daddy Weave - Beautiful Offerings

The City Harmonic roared back on top this quarter with a Perfect Entry. I was beginning to worry about them. The big surprise of the quarter, however, came from Amber Nelon Thompson. With Southern Gospel history I was expecting a test to my gag reflexes. Good thing the youth generation decides to rebel. It leaves hope for the music world. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Music Video Monday: Moment to Moment

Welcome to the latest edition of Music Video Monday. Since I am continually getting new readers care of Facebook, I think it is only proper that I should continue with my introduction every week. Music Video Monday is where I share the best in Christian Music Videos on the web. Think of it as my way to resurrect the original MTV.

We have come to the Rock Genre for the 3rd Quarter Releases of 2012. Due to the abundance of videos out there, (there were 10), I am once again splitting this into two weeks, and part two will be out on Labor Day. Todays edition will be somewhat more sedate than next. We'll leave the hard stuff for the holidays.

We begin with Big Daddy Weave, one of those bands that I had somewhat forgotten about. This is Redeemed off of their album Love Come To Life.

We move on to our next band, the Rock/Worship band Deluge. This is a live performance of Your Joy from their release Swell.

Continuing with Rock/Worship, this is The Hurt and The Healer, the song from the album of the same name by legend Mercy Me.

We conclude with the harder stuff, a preview to next week. We Begin with a band originally called Magnified Plaid. Thankfully it got shortened to MxPx. This is Far Away from Plans Within Plans.

And we conclude with Sibling Punkers Children 18:3 and Moment to Moment from their latest release On the Run.

That concludes this edition of Music Video Monday. We will be having an MVM post on Labor Day, and we will finish up the Rock genre with videos from The Rocket Summer, Thousand Foot Krutch, Willet, Write This Down, and Classic Petra. Until then, or my next post, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Night Beat Rewind: April 2012

We are really behind schedule here at Night Beat HQ. It comes with the territory when you are a one man band, so to speak. With the Platinum Vinyl Awards just about to commence, the start of Festival Season (a few started already), the regular release schedule, and everyday mayhem, I am about a month behind. To paraphrase Steve Taylor "I want to have a clone".

We are almost at Memorial Day Weekend (it's this weekend) and I haven't completed my April Rewind yet. Hopefully I will be able to catch up before Summer begins.

Missing The Mark

• Paul Baloche - The Same Love 3.75 Emeralds
• Smokie Norful - Once In A Lifetime 3.5 Emeralds

Perfect Platinum

• Demon Hunter - True Defiance 5 Emeralds
• Israel & New Breed - Decade 5 Emeralds

One caveat here, with Israel Houghton having a 10 year best of album, it really doesn't count as a true 5 Emerald release. If you don't have a WOW best of album, you did a horrible job picking songs to begin with.

Semi-Precious Metal

• Big Daddy Weave  - Love Come to Life 4.5 Emeralds
• Steven Curtis Chapman - #1's Volume 1 4.5 Emeralds
• Deluge - Swell 4.75 Emeralds
• Desperation Band - Center of It All 4.50 Emeralds
• Todd Dulaney - Pulling Me Through 4.5 Emeralds
• Fike - The Moment We've Been Waiting For 4.50 Emeralds
• Forever Jones - Musical Revival 4.75 Emeralds
• Haste The Day - Best of the Best 4.75 Emeralds
• KJ-52 - Dangerous 4.5 Emeralds
• Trip Lee - The Good Life 4.75 Emeralds
• Manafest - Fighter 4.75 Emeralds
• MxPx - Plans Within Plans 4.75 Emeralds
• Dan Macauley - From You For You 4.25 Emeralds
• Christy Nockels - Into The Glorious 4.75 Emeralds

That finally concludes the April releases and my quick hit ratings. I have linked to the reviews I made of several of the releases. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.
