We are down to our final two single genre posts. That was quicker than I thought. The penultimate post is for Pop Music. It had eleven entries this quarter. If you have been keeping track of things as we go along you know which genre won the quarter. It usually does. On to the entries.
Pop Music
A nice mix this quarter, including a surprise entry by Dance Queen Lights. When a Dance album goes acoustic, it winds up pop. Modern Worship is all that is left. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.
Sometimes when it looks like you are never going to get out ahead and a window opens up and poof. That has happened. #PlatVnyl6 nominees out, Blog Page Updated, and now the May Edition of Rewind out before June is half way over. Time to throw a party.
We begin our monthly Rewind with the songs released during the month, or as we call it
The Singles Scene
- Skillet - Feel Invincible 5 Emeralds
- Tauren Wells - Undefeated 4.50 Emeralds
If you haven't heard it already Tauren Wells is going solo. Royal Tailor has to find a new frontman. We go now to those releases which will not make the #PlatVnyl7 Pool
Missing The Mark
- Mari Burelle - Treasure 3.75 Emeralds
- Social Club Misfits - The Misfit Generation 3.75 Emeralds
Mari Burelle likes to style herself MARi, but unless you search by album you will never find it like that. Just a friendly bit of help. Our next group needs no help at all. They are
Pure Platinum Perfection
- Emery - Emery Acoustic: Live In Houston 5 Emeralds
- Rivers and Robots - The Eternal Son 5 Emeralds
- Seth and Nirva - Never Alone 5 Emeralds
One note. Emery produced an Acoustic Live EP which smashes all the preconceptions around both Live Albums and EP's. Therefore I have awarded it a full 5 Emeralds instead of the Maximum 4.75 that I normally give to EP's. Now most albums fall somewhere in between the two and we call them

Welcome Back to an all new edition of Music Video Monday. We will be moving all around the genres from now on. We have four Music Videos this week. First up is a bit of Metal. Heavy Metal in the form of Righteous Vendetta. This is The Fire Inside.
Slowing it down just a tad. This is Five Iron Frenzy, one of the SKA bands. This is Zen and The Art of Xenophobia.
Moving on to Alt-Rock. This is Scott Stapp, former lead singer of Creed. This is Slow Suicide.
Finally we move on to Hip Hop. This is a rising new duo from Diverse City Seth and Nirva. This is Whole World.
Next Monday we will have three videos, with not an Irish Tune among them. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.
Welcome back to the roll out of the 2014 1rst Quarter Pool Eligible entries. From here on in it's all single posts. We start with Gospel, one of three genres this quarter with five entries, which is the minimum I think would make a single post.
Gospel/R&B was a mix of old an new artists this time around, including one a bit hard to classify. She's new to Gospel, but at the time she is definitely a veteran, though in the dance/disco arena.
Bet you never thought you'd see an album by Gloria Gaynor at The Night Beat. Neither did I, until I heard it. We are under way. We will build our way up to the big genres. Next up will be Alternative. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.
