Music Video Monday: Riding In an Off Road Minivan

Welcome Back to Music Video Monday. We have had a bumpy ride lately, sort of like an off road minivan (more on that later). Still, we have managed to scare up a few videos this time.

We begin with Lights. She manages to keep putting out some great music videos in conjunction with her Skin and Earth Graphic Novel/Album. The latest of these is called We Were Here, and it features her husband Beau as a priest.

Next up we have a somewhat regular, Artifex Pereo. This is the music video for As History Would Have It.
Tooth and Nail Records has a history of discovering and nurturing new talent, who then go on their own and keep producing great Music (Do the names Emery, Icon For Hire and Thousand Foot Krutch ring a bell?). Their newest discovery is called Off Road Minivan, and they will be releasing their debut on February 16. This is Spiral Gaze.
That does it for this edition of Music Video Monday. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

A Perfect Scale: The 2016 Platinum Vinyl Awards 4th Quarter: Alternative

The single genre posts are upon us. Of course, due to ties it may seem like multi-genre postings. We had three three way ties this quarter, with 5's 6's (my number is six-six-six) and sevens. And no we are not at sixes and sevens with ourselves. The first five posting was for alternative rock. Let us get to it.

Alternative Rock

Next up is Electronic-Industrial. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Music Video Monday: Stranger Ways to be Disconnected

It's a special Music Video Monday here at night beat HQ. Today we say goodbye to one of the greatest alternative bands of all time, and at the same time welcome some up and coming rockers who are destined for great things.

Where do I begin. I really hate goodbyes, and perhaps that is where I should start. 12 years ago a Mutiny Started on the CCM Bounty, and it was led by none other than Mr. Christian. Stephen Christian that is, the lead singer of +Anberlin . The band has decided to call it quits after 12 years, and while I wasn't there for the full ride but once I got on I was hooked. The band is a regular at the Platinum Vinyl Awards and Vital and Devotion are both perfect albums. We go out with Stranger Ways. The Lowborn salute you.

Next we go to the newcomers. Veridia is a new FFR Rock Band that I have become quite fond of. I loved the debut EP and hey, Red and Demon Hunter are fans as well. That alone speaks volumes. The band knows how to Rock, but in their Music Video Monday Debut, they have decided to take on the Silent Movie era. Disconnected indeed.

For our final video we bring you another new band with a strange name. This is Artifex Pereo and To Listen and Say Nothing.

We never have nothing to say here at Night Beat HQ, but it is time to hang it up for now. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Rising Beats: The 2014 Third Quarter - Alternative

Continuing with our announcing of the Third Quarter of 2014 Pool Eligible releases.  Our next grouping almost doubles the entries of our last group. Alternative had nine entries, which would make it a finals by itself. It is not the big winner. It tied with pop for entries and is surpassed by four other genres. (Did you think I was going to make it easy on you).

Alternative Rock

Legends (The Choir), Soon to Be Legends (The Ember Days) and newbies (Artifex Pereo) fill the ranks. A good mix to have in an award show. We move on to our next category, tied with nine entries as well. Pop is next. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.
