Justified In Light: The 2020 Platinum Vinyl Awards 1st Quarter - Pop

Break out the Bubblegum, it's Pop Music Time. This quarter was a good one for the pop tart crowd with a double finals worth of entries (that's 14 for the newbies, and perhaps Iowa Dems can count that high). Sorry, couldn't resist. Let's get to the syrup.

Pop Music

  • Jared Anderson - The Whole Landscape EP
  • Jeremy Benjamin - WonderLove
  • Citizen Way - Love Is A Lion
  • Clay Crosse - Freewill Offering EP
  • For All Seasons - Side A EP
  • Hollyn - Bye, Sad Girl
  • Coby James - No trouble EP
  • Coby James - Happier EP
  • Coby James - Coby James EP
  • Chuckie P - Faith Hope and Love
  • Reba Rambo - Lady (Released 1976: Digital Debut)
  • Courtney Ramirez - Amada en Verdad
  • Stillman - Let Go EP
  • Stillman - Wherever You Are EP
Those in the know have deduced the winner. Modern Worship Wraps the Wrap with 20 entries. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Wolves Unleashed: The 2019 Platinum Vinyl Awards 4th Qtr - Pop

Another tie. Two this quarter. This one is only two genres, a true tie. Pop Music is first.

Pop Music

  • Building 429 - Fear No More
  • Hayden Everett - Hayden Everett
  • Hollyn - Bye, sad girl
  • Hannah Kerr - Listen More EP
  • Jamie Kimmett - Prize Worth Fighting For EP
  • Local Sound - Sunday Song
  • Out of The Dust - Now More Than Ever
  • Aaron Shust - Nothing To Fear
  • Trinity (NL) - The In Between
  • Matthew West - Hello My Name Is: Greatest Hits
Hollyn is just as good as ever, and Out of The Dust, WoW. Rock is next. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Music Video Monday: Balconies

Welcome back to an all new edition of Music Video Monday. We are getting into the flow of things here at Night Beat HQ. I think we may yet get on top of things soon. One step at a time.

We begin with with Jamie Grace and The Happy Song.

Next up we have Derek Minor and Hollyn. They Both Want to Change The World.
Finally we pick up a little spare change by returning to our Paper Route. Check out the Balconies of Grace.
That does it for this edition of Music Video Monday. Two in a row. Here we go. I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Copernicus Rocks: The 2017 Platinum Vinyl Awards 2nd Qtr - Pop

We are done. The finish line is in sight. Pop Music tied with Modern Worship with 11 entries this quarter. Let's cross the line together.

Pop Music

And we are done. And the prize is.... We get to move on to the third quarter. Thrilling, I know. The third Quarter is underway, and we are there. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Copernicus Rocks: The 2017 Platinum Vinyl Awards - Dance

Dance is up next as we announce the pool entries for the 2nd Quarter of 2017. They had six entries, which is very good for the quarter. There are three more posts after this, and they all smash through the 7 nominee category listing in the finals. As I finished up our last post, I hope that Amazon gets quickly back online so that I can update these posts with their affiliate links. On to the Dance Entries.

Dance-Synthpop

I can hear you saying "wasn't Hollyn just nominated in Rap?" Yes, and now she is in the pool (Nominees aren't official until the pool is closed) in Dance. That is part of the problem with this artist. She carries off various styles. She can rap, has an R&B/Gospel Voice, Has a Synthpop Sound, and does it all well. It makes it hard to peg an album. Next up is Adult Contemporary with 10 entrants into the pool. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Copernicus Rocks: The 2017 Platinum Vinyl Awards 2nd Qtr - Rap

We continue our announcements of the 2nd Quarter 2017 Pool Eligible Nominees for #PlatVnyl8. The multi-genre posts are behind us and we now move in ascending order with the single genre post, where the minimum bar is five entrants. Just coming in with 5 is Hip Hop and Rap. Let's get to it.

Hip Hop/Rap

Not a lot of established artists this quarter. Hollyn hasn't been around enough yet to be considered "established", but her vocal versatility seems to predict longevity. Next up is Dance. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

(There appears to be a problem at Amazon. At the current time I am unable to get to the detail page of any products in order to post affiliate links. They will be updated later.)

Night Beat Rewind: February 2017

The Groundhog was wrong. Things are heating up here at Night Beat HQ, and it's not all due to the Spring weather. We begin our monthly roundup with the Songs released during the month, or as we call it here

The Singles Scene

Now onto the albums. We begin with those releases which will not make the cut into the #PlatVnyl8 Pool. A small nitpick. I come up from the Vinyl era. Back in the day we had these things called 45s, which contained 2 songs, one on each side. They were the singles. That is what Hands has released, a single and a B-Side. You need at least 3 songs to make an EP, which is how they market it.

Missing The Mark

  • Cristabelle Braden - Hope Springs 3.75 Emeralds
  • East Hill Worship - Yesterday, Today, Forever 3.75 Emeralds
  • Dan Ferrari - Unrepeatable 3.75 Emeralds
  • Taelor Gray - In The Way Of Me 3.75 Emeralds
  • Kat & Jared - Kat & Jared EP 3.75 Emeralds
  • KRUM - Blue Eyed Devil 3.50 Emeralds
  • Nobigdyl. - Canopy 3.50 Emeralds
  • Royal Ruckus - The Summer of The Cicadias 3.75 Emeralds
KRUM is the artist formerly known as Playdough, but even a name change doesn't change my opinion of the music. And Kat & Jared? Must be a Flyleaf curse, but the only success from the former band seems to be Lacey. Maybe that's the way it is supposed to be. Now on to the albums from which nothing bad can be found.

Pure Platinum Perfection

6 Perfect 5's, and each one from 5 different genres (Alternative, Gospel, Modern Worship, and Hip Hop, and Instrumental). It's good to spread it around.

Semi-Precious Metal

That does it for February. Death Therapy threw me for a while. It was the weirdest metal band I ever heard until it finally dawned on me "It's not metal, it is industrial".   Once the adjustment was made the album was near perfect. Genres are important. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.
