#PlatVnyl6 The Nominations Begin: Video by A Male Artist

We had a full plate of Video Entries this Year, and we have a full slate of genres as well, where we had dropped a few last year. We come to the General Field Based Video Awards nominees. There are 4 of them: Video by a Male Artist, Video by a Female Artist, Video by a New Artist, and Video of The Year. We Start with Video by a Male Artist, the Video Companion to Male Vocalist of The Year, though the two are not identical.

Shemita Songs: The 2015 Platinum Vinyl Awards 4th Qtr - Rap

We move on up to Rap and Hip Hop, which had eight nominees this quarter, still at the bottom of the list. A nice blend of established and new artists. I won't spend any extra time as I am already behind schedule in these announcements.

Rap/Hip Hop

• Brinson - Until We Meet Again
• Flame - Forward
• Andy Mineo - Uncomfortable
• Thi'sl - Heavy Is The Head
• TobyMac - This Is Not A Test
• Tony Tillman - Camden
• Reconcile - Catchin' Bodies - EP
• Rp Tha Chozen 1 - The Harvest

Flame put out a Perfect Album this quarter and TobyMac as well, though he is in multiple genres as his music spans several styles. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Music Video Monday: All In

The stakes have been raised in an all new all rap Music Video Monday. We have a video trifecta today. We begin with Canon, which is a misnomer. He raps so quickly he should be named Mac 10. This is Mad Haven.

Next at the table is Flame. He's holding a Royal Flush, so you know he's All In.

We finish today with Lecrae. I'm Turnt.

That does it for this week. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Swing Season: The 2014 1rst Quarter - Rap

Two genres had eight eligible entries this quarter, and if we ceased the eligibility year right now, the 5th Awards would be filled. Of course the awards would suck, because even better entries might be coming. Like I said, this is the first hurdle.

Hip Hop/Rap is the first of these two. It was a very good quarter, and a few Perfect 5's graced the genre. Let's get to the contenders.

• Can't Stop , Benjiman
• Church Clothes Vol. 2 , Lecrae
• Haze & Reflections (Vanity Fare Remixed), Benjah
• Heads Up , Jahaziel
• Instruments Of Mercy ,  Beautiful Eulogy
• Mad Haven , Canon
• I Need You , Seth and Nirva
• Royal Flush , Flame

Now Seth and Nirva made 3 genres in their debut: Dance, Gospel and Rap. We shall see how it all pans out for the Diverse City duo. Heavy Metal is next. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

The Frozen Chosen: Rap

We move on to Rap and Hip Hop as we continue our announcement of the best releases for the past Winter, which was the Second Quarter of the 2012 Eligibilty Year for the Platinum Vinyl Awards. As I am writing this post I am listening to a potential 5 Emerald  release in another genre. I'll only say as a teaser "her initials are L.L." On to the releases.

Rap/Hip-Hop

• Young Chozen - Class President
• Flame - The 6th
• Group 1 Crew - Outta Space Love, Bigger Love Edition
• High Society Collective - Circa MXMXI: The Collective
• JSon - Growing Pains
• Rapzilla - King Culture
• RMG - Welcome To The Family
• Scotty G - Real Life
• Toby Mac - Dubbed and Freq'd: A Remix Project.

All were solid releases, and Toby Mac doubled up in the Dance Category as well. Not as big as some of the others, but a solid showing. Until Monday, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Night Beat Rewind: March 2012

We have reached the halfway mark of the eligibility period for the Third Annual Platinum Vinyl Awards (the year is Oct 1 - Sept 30). My how time flies. So far things are pretty good except we are back to a very slow year for Children's Music. As always, we begin these rewind posts with those albums which

Missing The Mark

• The Burial - Lights and Perfections 3.75 Emeralds
• Leaders - Now We Are Free 3.75 Emeralds

Last month there were no releases that rose to the Pinnacled Heights of Greatness, but this week there was one result which qualified to be called

Pure Platinum

• Sarah Macintosh - Current 5 Emeralds

Was there really any question? There wasn't if you read my review. The former Chasing Furies front-woman takes fans of the late 90's band remembers her old fans in her latest release, and introduces new listeners to her memorable voice. While Current was the only perfect album of the month, there were plenty of releases which would qualify as
