2012 Platinum Vinyl Nominees

Evanescence leads all nominees to the 3rd Annual Platinum Vinyl Awards, Lights and Lara Landon tie for second.

Arkansas Goth-Alternative Band Evanescence cleaned up at the nominations for the 3rd Annual Platinum Vinyl Awards, garnering a record 12 nominations. 

 When grouped by label, Washington based Tooth and Nail was the nomination winner. With its three labels (Tooth and Nail, Solid State, and BEC Recordings), the company accumulated 44 Nominations for 15 Albums. The Leader among the company's roster was Anberlin Side Project Anchor and Braille, which had six nominations for The Quiet Life.

 Despite the success of Tooth and Nail, 2012 was the year of the independent artist. Independent Label Artists have garnered over forty nominations among the Album categories alone. The Independent Revolution was led by both Lara Landon and Lights, who each took home seven nominations, tying them for second place.

The Platinum Vinyl Awards, now in its Third Year, is the creation of The WENC Night Beat in an effort to honor the best in Christian Music, as well as mainstream artists generally regarded as Christian, while avoiding the favoritism that afflicts similar awards such as the Grammy's and Doves. The Internet Only Award Ceremony, first awarded in 2011, have grown each year. This year, awards will be given in 47 categories, 16 of which will be awarded for the first time, among them an all new Video awards, with awards in 7 of the 12 album genres.

 The Third Annual Platinum Vinyl Awards will be announced on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ , as well as The WENC Night Beat
