Platinum Vinyl Award Nominees

The Summer of Red declared for the 6th Annual Platinum Vinyl Awards, Toby Mac leads nominees with twelve.

This is not a test, this is life, and the 6th Platinum Vinyl Awards are announcing the reign of Toby I (aka TobyMac) and Proclaiming This Summer to be henceforth known as The Summer of Red.

The Mac is back as they say. Toby has bounced back from a recent slump with This Is Not A Test, which garnered 12 nominations, leading the pack and setting itself up for a potential record haul as it had no multiple nominations in any category.

Symphonic Rockers RED  provided plenty of Beauty and Rage to the judges, walking away with 8 nominations and second place. Not content with that the band has released a tenth anniversary edition of its debut, leaving the #PlatVnyl7 judges in a quandary as to whether a ten year old album can qualify as Album of The Year.

Third place was a bit more crowded, as four artists tied with 7 nominations each. Folk Rocker Jennifer Knapp continues to make the industry bang their heads against the wall that they were so quick to kick her out. They Set Her Free to excel. Bethel Church of Redding, California continues to solidify their reputation as Leader of The Modern Worship Genre with We Will Not Be Shaken. Rapture Ruckus and the comeback Nichole Nordeman round out the nominees.

Fourth place was just as crowded as The City Harmonic, Plumb, Jonathan Thulin, JJ Heller, and the comeback of Steve Taylor and The Perfect Foil had six nominations apiece.

The Sixth Annual Platinum Vinyl Awards will be announced on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ , as well as The WENC Night Beat in Early Summer.
