MVM Special Edition: #PlatVnyl7 Rap Video of The Year Nominees
We continue with our announcement of the #PlatVnyl7 genre based Video of The Year Nominees. We are progressing slower than I would like, but we are progressing nonetheless. The nominees are: Everyone Eats by Alert312; Go To Work by Benjah; Hey Girl by Nicole C. Mullen; I Just Wanna Know by NF; and Nothing But the Blood ft Deitrick Haddon by GuvnaB. One note. MVM Special Edition: #PlatVnyl7 Dance Video of the Year Nominees
We begin the Electronic Segment of the Video Award Nominations. First up is Dance-Synthpop Video of The Year. This category is a bit special as it has 6 nominees. Try as we did we couldn't get it down to 5. And some of them seemed to get more special as the judging went on. So we have 6. Usually Video of The Year explodes the category, so why not an individual genre. Let's get to it. The nominees for #PlatVnyl7 Dance-Synthpop Video of The Year are: Adventure by The Fifth Service (a band of Living Word Christian Center in Minneapolis, MN); Alive by Julianna Zobrist; Another Day by Alache; I Can't Quit by Capital Kings ft Reconcile; Love Like Fire by FearlessBND; and You Deserve Life by Kaimo K and Cathy Burton (via Bella Veleva). They will make you wanna move, wanna dance, and at least one may make you cry. Our nominee playlist.
Next up is the second of our all electronic genres, Electronic-Industrial. Until then I am Awaiting Your Reply.

MVM Special Corrected Edition: Gospel Video of The Year Nominees
Correction: Soon after the original post was made it was discovered that two of the original 5 nominees were actually from #PlatVnyl6, which was last years award. JJ Hairston and Armar'rae Hill have been purged from the playlist. However that does not absolve the original error. The requisite 40 lashes with a wet noodle has been decreed and administered.
The next group of video nominees which has been narrowed to the final 5 is Gospel Video. The video awards are still being narrowed in most categories. Let's get to it. The #PlatVnyl7 nominees are: Heaven's Angel by Alache ft Ron Kenoly, Jr; Promises ft Canton Jones by Trisha Alicia; Your Love by William Murphy; Sinners (Saved By Grace) by Deitrick Haddon and Big Boi; and Better by Hezekiah Walker. Once again we have packaged everything in a nice little playlist.
We have to get back to judging these videos, but there is plenty enough to keep us busy at Night Beat HQ, so until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

MVM Special Edition: #PlatVnyl7 Folk Video Nominees
We are trying to pull ourselves up out of a hole here at Night Beat HQ. One of the best ways to do that is to get going on the Platinum Vinyl Awards. This year (we are behind schedule) is #PlatVnyl7. We always use the Music Video Monday format to announce the Video Awards Nominees. Since we have narrowed a few of the categories to the final 5 nominees, I think it is high time to begin the announcement process.
We begin with Folk/Folk Rock Video of The Year. The nominees for #PlatVnly7 are Signal by Sara Groves; Beloved One by Jenny and Tyler; The Dream Alive by Vocal Few; What Do You See? by Mr and Mrs Something; and Band of Gold by The Grey Havens. Here is the video playlist.

MVM Special Edition: AC Video Pool
Welcome to a Very Special Edition of Music Video Monday. We are taking a break from the usual, due to a dearth of New Music Videos. We have to reload. Not to worry, there is still videos to share.
What we are going to do is share the Video Pool for the various genres in the Platinum Vinyl Awards. This is not the final nominees. This is the pool from which the nominees will be taken. We begin with Adult Contemporary/Inspirational. Currently there are 13 Videos in the pool, and we are always searching for additional videos. Either way, we will be voting on these to narrow them to 5. Here is the playlist for your enjoyment.
Watch, Listen, and vote. Yes, Vote. You can help us here at The Night Beat by commenting on which videos are your favorites. It will have weight as we narrow thing down. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

A Perfect Scale: The 2016 Platinum Vinyl Awards 4th Quarter - Pop
The second of our beastly trio is Pop Music, which to some is really no better than Dance Music. Maybe so, but it isn't exactly the same. Enough soapbox preaching, let's get to the list.
Pop Music
- Tanya Godsey - Love Lines The Last Horizon
- Group 1 Crew - Power
- Love and The Outcome - These Are The Days
- Royce Lovett - Love Wins
- Beckah Shae - Mighty
- Unspoken - Follow Through

A Perfect Scale: The 2016 Platinum Vinyl Awards 4th Quarter - Dance/Synthpop
As promised, the first of our beastly trilogy. That's a Book of Revelation joke for the Biblically Uninformed. Three 7's in a row may pave the way for Heaven, but three 6's. Of course the fact that this grouping includes Dance Music probably cements the feeling that Dancing WILL send you to HELL among Southern Baptists and Nazarene's. (The first grouping is legend, the Second I know from experience, as I went to Eastern Nazarene College). Let's get down to it.
Dance-Synthpop
- GAWVI - Holding Hue EP
- GAWVI - Lost In Hue EP
- Spencer Kane - Kane
- Lion of Judah - Buried at Sea EP
- Toxic Emotion - Beautiful Randomness
- Julianna Zobrist - Shatterproof

A Perfect Scale: The 2016 Platinum Vinyl Awards 4th Quarter - Hard Rock/Metal
The final of the first three way tie. Hard Rock and Heavy Metal put together five entrants into the pool. Let us get to it.
Hard Rock/Metal
- Forevermore - Integral
- Norma Jean - Polar Similar
- Silent Planet - Everything Was Sound
- To Speak of Wolves - New Bones

A Sweet album and A Stryper album in the same eligibility year. Are they trying to make the judges heads explode. Next up the first of a beastly trilogy. (My number is 666). Dance-Synthpop is next. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.
