Mistletunes: The 2016 1st Quarter - Modern Worship

We have reached the end of the First Quarter of 2016. We have reached the final post, the genre that had the most eligible entries this quarter. And that genre is Modern Worship. Actually, it usually is. I think there was one quarter when it wasn't. So let us get to it.

Modern Worship

That does it for the first quarter. Things are getting pretty heated up here at Night Beat HQ as we are just about finished with the first month of the second quarter. Stay locked here as the Second Quarter gets underway and even as the nominees for #PlatVnyl6 are announced soon. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Mistletunes: The 2016 1st Quarter - Rap

If you've been counting you know which genre has won this quarters prize for the most entries. The Penultimate genre is Rap, as well as its bouncier sibling Hip-Hop. Hip Hop is getting swallowed up by Dance and Synthpop these days, and that is not necessarily a bad thing. There were an even dozen entries into the pool this quarter.

Rap/Hip-Hop

A nice mix of artists here. Most of them are veterans here, with the exception of Hollyn, who is debuting. Modern Worship Is next. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Misteltunes: The 2016 1st Quarter - Adult Contemporary

We are down to the final three posts. Going from least to the grand winner. The least in this case is Adult Contemporary with 10 entrants in the pool. Let's get to it.

Adult Contemporary/Inspirational

Of the ten entrants, it is quite stacked with veterans. Phillip LaRue was part of LaRue back in the turn of the century backing up Rebecca St. James, Sanctus Real is a mainstay in the genre, as is PCD. Stu G might not be a household name, but he should be. He was the Backing Vocalist and main guitarist for Delirious? from 1994-2009. That's saying a lot. The newbies have got a high bar to reach. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Moving on with our announcement of the 2016 1st Quarter Pool Entries. Pop Music is next with 8 entrants. We are in the final stretch. Just a few more to go. And there are a bunch of big ones here.

Pop Music

Natalie Grant and V.Rose are the established artists in this genre, and our alliterative Koloff is one of the stars to look out for in the future. Only three more genres to go and Adult Contemporary is next. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Mistletunes: The 2016 1st Quarter - Alternative

We are back at the offices after our long weekend. Actually you received a post on Monday through the miracle of scheduled posts, but we were off Having Fun Doing Research. Up next is Alternative Rock, which had seven entries into the pool this quarter. Let's get it on.

Alternative Rock

There are a few comments. The Ember Days and Falling Up both scored a perfect 5 this quarter, which didn't really surprise. The shock was thaf Falling Up is Falling Down (they are disbanding for the moment). Low and Behold has Ryan Clark (of Demon Hunter and NYVES) on lead vocals. The man is a machine. Pop Music is next. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.
